# Finance dashboard

> Invoiced, paid, outstanding and overdue across every project — and what needs chasing.

**Finance** in the sidebar covers the whole studio, not one project. It
opens on the **Dashboard**.

## The four numbers

| Card               | What it counts                                                               |
| ------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Total invoiced** | Everything you have billed in the period, with the invoice count underneath. |
| **Paid** | What has actually come in. |
| **Outstanding** | Sent, not yet paid. Not overdue — just not settled. |
| **Overdue** | Past its due date. This is the number to act on. |

Switch the period with **This month · This quarter · This year · All
time**. All four cards move together.

## Needs attention

Below the cards, Atelier lists overdue and partially paid invoices — the
ones that need a phone call. When there is nothing to chase it says so.

## The other tabs

* **[Proposals](/finance/proposals)** — What you send before the work is
  agreed.
* **[Invoices](/finance/invoices)** — Created from a schedule or from
  scratch, sent, tracked and marked paid.
* **[Change orders](/finance/change-orders)** — Scope changes after the
  proposal is signed, documented and priced.
* **[Purchase orders](/finance/purchase-orders)** — What you send
  vendors. Carries your studio details and the project ship-to address.

## How documents reach people

<Info>
  **Atelier does not send email.** **Mark as sent** changes a document's
  status — it does not deliver anything. For a proposal, invoice or change
  order, copy the client link (**Shared**, in the document's toolbar) and
  send it yourself, however you normally reach that client. A purchase
  order has no client-facing link at all — **Download PDF** is the only way
  to get it out.
</Info>

The one exception is your account's own sign-in and studio-invitation
emails, sent by Clerk, Atelier's authentication provider — not by
anything in Finance.

## Who can do what

<Warning>
  None of the four Finance documents are role-restricted. Any studio member
  — **OWNER**, **ADMIN** or **MEMBER** — can create, edit, delete, or mark
  one sent, accepted or paid. Choose who you invite to your studio with
  that in mind.
</Warning>

## Before you send anything

Client documents pull from **Settings → Studio**: your logo, legal name,
business address, tax ID, currency, date format, and the payment block in
the invoice footer. Set those up once.

<Info>
  Invoices are usually created from a schedule rather than here, on the
  schedule's **Financials** view, so the line items and totals carry across
  with markup and tax already applied.
