# Finding your way around

> The sidebar, Home, Inbox and the project workspace explained.

Atelier has one sidebar on the left that never changes, and a work area on
the right that does. Learn the sidebar and you can find everything else.

## The sidebar

| Item | What it is |
| ------------ | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Home** | Your day: tasks assigned to you, the Today planner, and your projects. |
| **Inbox** | Notifications: task activity assigned to you, plus client comments and approvals on shared pinboards. |
| **Projects** | Every project in the studio. |
| **Library** | Studio-wide records: **Products**, **Clients**, **Vendors**. |
| **Time** | Time entries and reports. |
| **Finance** | Invoices, proposals, change orders and purchase orders across all projects. |
| **Pinned** | Schedules and pinboards you have pinned for quick access. |

At the bottom: **Get help**, **Start timer**, and **AI Chat**.

The studio name at the very top opens the account menu — **Settings**,
**Back office** and **Log out**.

## Home

Where you land when you sign in: **My tasks** on the left, **Today** on the
right, your projects below. It answers what you personally are doing,
across every job.

Covered properly in [Home](/tasks/home).

## Inbox

Two things land here: your own team's task activity (assigned to you,
replied to, reacted to), and everything a client does on a shared
pinboard — comments on individual items, and approvals.

Selecting a row shows the item they were reacting to — the product image, the
comment, the date — and a link straight to the pinboard it came from.
Clearing the Inbox is a reasonable way to start the week.

## The project workspace

Every project has the same four tabs.

* **Overview** — The timeline of phases, cards for anything that needs
attention, your pinboards, a recent activity log and project files.
* **Tasks** — The project's task board, with Board, Timeline and List views.
* **Schedule** — FF\&E schedules for the project, with version and status.
* **Pinboards** — Every pinboard in the project, with image counts.

### Needs your attention

On the Overview, Atelier surfaces the things that quietly go wrong on
interiors jobs:

* **Ready to order** — items the client approved that nobody has ordered yet.
* **No price set** — items on a schedule with no estimated cost, so your
  budget is lying to you.
* **No room assigned** — items that will be awkward at installation.
* **Phase ends soon** — a phase due to close within days.

## AI Chat

The **AI Chat** button opens a panel beside whatever you are looking at. Ask
it about your own data — *what's overdue this week?*, *add Holly Hunt as a
vendor*, *start a timer on the Birchwood project* — and it acts on the
studio you are signed in to.

The same capabilities are available inside Claude itself through the Claude
connector, if you would rather work from chat.
