# Export a pinboard to PDF

> Turn a board into a file you can print, email or hand to a contractor.

Sharing a link is usually better — it stays current and the client can
comment on it. But some situations want a file: a printed presentation, an
email attachment for someone who will not click a link, a set of pages for
a site meeting.

**Save PDF** in the pinboard toolbar produces one.

## What you get

Each page of the pinboard becomes a page of the PDF, in order, with your
images and labels as arranged. Zoom level does not affect the output — the
export uses the canvas, not your current view.

## Getting a clean export

    On screen you can talk over the board. On paper the labels have to do
    it alone.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name your pages">
    Page names carry through. *BEDROOM-PAGE1* is better than *Page 1*.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check image quality">
    A vendor thumbnail that looks fine at 40% zoom prints badly. Replace
    low-resolution images before exporting.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Look at it at 100%">
    Set zoom to 100% and read each page as the client will.
  </Step>

<Tip>
  For a full client presentation, export the pinboards *and* the schedule,
  then send both. The boards show the idea, the schedule shows what it costs.
