# Overview

> A pinboard is a shareable canvas of images, plans and products — how you present a scheme and how the client responds to it.

A pinboard is a canvas. You drop images, plans, material shots and product
photos onto it, arrange them, label them, and share a link with the client.
They comment and approve in their browser; their replies come back to your
**Inbox**.

## What a pinboard is good for

* **Concept boards** — the mood, the palette, the direction.
* **Room presentations** — plans, elevations and the pieces that go in the
  room, on one page.
* **Approval rounds** — a board the client works through item by item,
  approving as they go.

A single pinboard can hold several pages, so one document carries a whole
presentation: *Bedroom — page 1*, *Bedroom — page 2*, *Living room*.

## Create one

Open a project, go to the **Pinboards** tab, choose **New pinboard** and
name it. The list shows every pinboard in the project with its image count
and creation date.

## The editor

| Control | What it does |
| ------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Add image** | Upload images onto the current page. |
| **Add page** | A new page in the same pinboard. The page counter reads *1 / 3*. |
| Text tool | Adds a text label — used for notes like *Bucle for bed* or *Light beige limewash paint on the walls*. |
| Zoom | Scales the canvas. Doesn't change the export. |
| **Pin** | Pins this board to the sidebar for quick access. |
| **Save PDF** | Exports the pinboard as a PDF. |
| **Shared** | Creates and manages the client link. |

Every control in the toolbar, the page row and the one that appears when you
select something is listed in
[Every control in the editor](/pinboards/editor-reference).

Items on the canvas carry small markers: a link marker where a pin is
connected to a product in your library, and a comment badge with a count
where the client has said something.

## Link pins to products

A pin can be connected to a product record. Once it is, the pin carries the
real price, brand and vendor, and the client's approval can flow straight
through to a schedule row.

## Share with the client

**Shared** produces a link. The client needs no account and nothing to
install. They can comment on any item, and approve items. Both come back to
you in the **Inbox**, tagged with the pinboard and the item.
